Tasers are more, less or no used by police depending on each country, but there are a lot of people against this kind of weapon, its proportionality and the risk of using it. In my opinion, there are cases and cases and in this one, where a guy was about to attack an officer, I would've preferred a shot in his knee over the taser.
As you probably know, the USA is (I think) the country where tasers are used more frequently. It seems like they use it as much as a whistle...
Other countries are more classic and prefer the manual method.

Ignorant of the reason why this couple was arguing with the bus driver in Hull, England. The fact is that the fight ends up moving to the sidewalk, where an elderly man on a scooter reproaches them for their behavior and they end up getting into a physical altercation. Cultural norms and social values in different countries can influence the perception of violence, revenge, and conflict resolution.
In some cultures, revenge may be seen as a legitimate way to restore honor or justice, while in others, peaceful conflict resolution is more valued.
This helps to understand why in some countries bar fights are settled with punches, while in others knives, machetes, and guns are quickly drawn.
