MAKING THINGS WORSE

In Chile, a woman being arrested manages to snatch a cop's gun and starts firing it off like a madman. One of the cops and the cameraman who was filming everything live for TV ended up injured.
Aside from whatever charges she had, now she'll also be slapped with attempted murder.

CRASHES HIS CAR INTO A POLICE STATION

At first glance, it might seem like an accident: a man, perhaps a bit intoxicated, crashes his car into a police station. These things happen. We see them almost daily. Maybe not into a police station, but in many other places: laundromats, restaurants, hair salons... But there's one detail that makes me suspicious. When he gets out of the car and raises his hands in submission, accepting his fate, there's a moment when he clenches his fists but keeps his index fingers upright, and that indicates satisfaction, pride, victory. Could it be an unlocked achievement? A bet? A new item to check off that list we all have of things to do before we die?

In this life, one no longer knows what to believe.

LOSS OF AUTHORITY

Authority is the attribute that gives a person, position, or profession the right to give orders. It is also the quality that ensures that an order is followed. Therefore, having authority means both giving commands and being obeyed. This authority, within a social consensus, is based on a legitimate recognition of those who demand it; Politicians, judges, police officers, as well as bosses, teachers, and parents, among others, are figures of authority.

But authority can also be lost, either through misuse or abuse, or through a lack of legitimacy. Authority is based on values and principles accepted by the majority, and it is forced to uphold them and set an example.

When a misuse of authority is combined with the fact that this new society is raised with the idea that the world revolves around the individual, and constantly bombarded with messages of freedom and rights, it causes them to perceive authority as a figure of repression, losing respect for it.

POLICE ARREST JAPANESE OLD LADY WHO THREATENED PEOPLE WITH KNIVES

Japanese police forces arrested an elderly woman for disturbing public order. The subject was threatening people with large kitchen knives. It took more than 7 agents armed with shields, large plastic containers and a mechanical-hand device (like those grabbing sticks you use to pick up stuff without standing up) to capture the old lady.
I don't know when or why the shot to the knee stopped being used to resolve these events.

TWO POLICE OFFICERS ASSAULTED DURING ATTEMPTED ARREST

Two police officers try to carry out an arrest procedure in Guardamar del Segura, Alicante (Spain). The detainee resists and the people who hover around the area try to prevent the arrest. Finally the two policemen were assaulted by several people.

GOING ON SAFARI AROUND THE USA

Sightseeing in the United States is the closest thing to going on a safari through the Okavango Delta, in Botswana, or spending a few days in South Africa's Kruger National Park, but instead of watching lions, leopards, buffaloes, and zebras, you get to see policemen and criminals of all kinds.
The mechanics of the system are the same: you go in your car with your mobile in hand and you record everything you watch.
