Due to the controversy Mortal Kombat's Fatalities, and with the intention of mocking the outrage of many parents who claimed that the game was too violent for their children, in Mortal Kombat II they decided to implement the Friendship, where the player could choose between finishing their rival or, thanks to fulfilling a series of conditions and using a combination of buttons, applying a Friendship, where the character could perform different acts of friendship and goodwill towards their opponent such as giving them a gift, blowing bubbles, making an origami or turning into a snowman.
