MANSPREADING. PATRIARCHY OR BIOLOGY?

Manspreading or man-sitting or ballrooming is the practice of men sitting in public transport with legs wide apart, thereby covering more than one seat
There are two possible explanations: one feminist that understands it's a way to express men's power, linked to the patriarchy, and another more biological that says men have shoulders much more wide than their hips/butts in comparation with women. For that reason, men need more space between their knees in order to keep a balance with shoulders.

AGAINST MANSPREADING

Some activists in St. Petersburg sprayed with water with bleach the crotch of some passengers in the subway who spread their legs too much.
Manspreading is a recent term used by feminists to talk about those men who travel in public transport and spread their legs too much, taking more space than they should.

IS MANSPREADING JUST A MEN THING?

"Manspreading" is the name assigned to the action of a man spreading his legs while sitting in, for example, a subway, occupying part of another seat.
It's a term created by feminists, considering it's an action against women... but hey, let me say something! It's an action against everybody because it's impeding anyone to sit next to you, so feminists out there... don't think men are always against women!

Besides, manspreading isn't just a men thing. There are women who do the same...
