Two of the boxing "competitors" at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Algerian Imane Khelif and Taiwanese Lin Yu-Ting, were disqualified from the AIB World Championship just a year ago after mandatory DNA tests revealed XY chromosomes.

However, this year's Olympic Games allow each country's organizations to set their own criteria when selecting athletes, which is why both boxers can compete in the French capital without any issues.

LIFE IS A GAME OF INJUSTICES

Life is, often, a game of injustices. Things don't always go as they should. You put in the effort, do the right thing, and still, sometimes you end up losing. It's as if the universe, in its chaotic sense of humor, decided that it's not enough to screw you over once, but also to give you an extra hit, one you didn't see coming.

And the thing is, even though we want to believe that the world rewards justice, the reality is that it doesn't always happen that way. Sometimes, despite being in the right place, doing the right thing, you find yourself face to face with cruelty or indifference. Life doesn't always give you what you deserve, but rather what happens at that moment, and what happens isn't always fair.

But that's life: unpredictable, often unfair, and full of unexpected blows. All you can do is get up, with the mark of the last hit on your face, and keep going, knowing that next time, maybe things will turn out better. Or maybe not. But in the end, we keep moving forward because life doesn't stop, and neither can we.
