A CURIOUS FACT ABOUT SHIRTS

The buttons on men’s and women’s shirts are on opposite sides due to a historical tradition.
On men’s shirts, the buttons are on the right side, while on women’s shirts, they are on the left. This is because, in the past, men typically dressed themselves and most were right-handed, so it was more convenient for the buttons to be on the right. On the other hand, women of high society were usually dressed by their maids, and having the buttons on the left made it easier for those helping them get dressed.

Even though most people dress themselves today, the tradition of buttons on opposite sides has persisted.

Not only do they enrich the travel experience by connecting tourists with the local culture, but they also bring a festive atmosphere to the streets. However, if you’re traveling with your girlfriend and suddenly find yourself with some go-go dancers performing right in front of the terrace where you're sitting, things get a bit tricky, and not in a good way. In that moment, keeping the conversation going and avoiding a wandering gaze can make the difference between ending the night peacefully or sleeping on opposite sides of the bed at the hotel.
