ED ROSS AND WET PLATE COLLODION
Wet plate collodion is an ancient photographic process developed in the 1850s that allowed the creation of images on glass plates. It involves sensitizing a glass plate with a solution of silver nitrate and collodion (a viscous substance), then exposing it while still wet and immediately developing it thereafter. This produced unique images with a high level of detail and sharpness. The process was popular in the 19th century and was used in fields such as portrait and documentary photography.
