Every year a dozen people die in India because of cows, and little can be done since you cannot hurt them, or you can end up in prison as they are considered sacred animals. Luckily, most of the cows that wander the streets are old, since they are abandoned by farmers who no longer want them. If this wasn't the case, the number of deaths would be much higher.
