Two police officers were slightly injured around 11pm last Wednesday at Lafeyette & White St. (Manhattan), after stopping a Dodge Charger for using modified license plates. Due to the lack of cooperation from the driver, he was arrested but, let's say that this man didn't like the idea of spending the night in police stations, so, after struggling on the ground, he decided to drive away in his vehicle despite of having been shot up to twice with a taser.

The ones who pride themselves on being open and respectful are often the most aggressive when faced with opposing views. They don’t seek debate but rather to impose their beliefs, and when someone disagrees, they resort to insults, censorship, and personal attacks.
For them, tolerance only applies if you agree with their stance. They live in echo chambers where they only hear like-minded opinions, and when someone challenges their ideas, they see it as a threat rather than a different perspective. Their response isn’t dialogue—it’s hostility—because deep down, they don’t want to argue, they want to control the narrative.

True tolerance means accepting diverse viewpoints without violence or censorship, yet many have turned their version of tolerance into a rigid dogma that leaves no room for dissent. Ironically, those who talk the most about tolerance are often the first to attack those who simply think differently.

THE DRUNKEN MASTER

On September 28, 2024, during PFL Europe 3 in Glasgow, Scotland, Lewis McGrillen and Dean Garnett delivered one of the most epic fights in Professional Fighters League (PFL) history. In under 12 minutes, the bout saw an astonishing 14 knockdowns, leaving fans and analysts in awe.

McGrillen started strong, knocking Garnett down three times in the opening moments. Although Garnett responded with a knockdown of his own, McGrillen kept up the pressure with powerful strikes. Finally, in the third round, McGrillen landed a decisive left hook, knocking Garnett out and securing the victory.

This clash has been hailed as one of the greatest in PFL history and a clear "Fight of the Year" candidate. Its intensity and the sheer number of knockdowns highlighted the high level of competition in PFL Europe. With this win, McGrillen advanced to the PFL Europe Bantamweight Championship, where he faced Alexander Luster, solidifying his status as one of Europe’s rising MMA stars.

LACK OF RESPECT OR FEAR

Nowadays, many young people question authority not because they’re encouraged to think critically, but because they believe they know it all and feel above the rules. This attitude, combined with a lack of connection to the real consequences of disrespect, leads them to act as if they’re immune to any repercussions. Social media also plays a key role, giving them a platform that often reinforces the idea that traditional authority is irrelevant or unnecessary.

In the past, respect for authority was more about fear, stemming from strict education and an environment where rules were unquestionable. Young people today haven’t experienced those conditions or the real consequences of defying them, which makes them underestimate the value of certain structures. This shift from fear to a sense of invulnerability creates conflicts in how they perceive and respond to authority today.

FROM TOLERANCE TO VIOLENCE IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE

A pro-life girl hits the streets with a mic to do some interviews. One woman happily agrees, smiles, seems open-minded... all good — until the questions don’t quite match her views. The smile fades, the tension builds, and suddenly — punch. And this isn’t a one-off. Not long ago we saw the exact same scene: a pro-life guy asking questions about abortion, a woman stops with her daughter, answers for a bit… and then assaults him. Same pattern, different setting.
What’s striking —or rather worrying— is the kind of people behind these reactions. The ones who claim to be open, respectful, tolerant, champions of dialogue, love, and “live and let live.” But the moment someone disagrees, boom — fuse lit. And instead of arguments, they go straight to violence.

We’re sold a narrative of freedom and tolerance, but if you don’t fit the mold, if you challenge the approved ideas, you’re suddenly the “enemy.” And that, my friend, isn’t tolerance. That’s just dogma with a new label.
