PROTESTS IN HONG KONG
Hong Kong was a British colony for more than 150 years, until 1997 where it was returned to China. Hong Kong's legal system still reflects the British model, valuing transparency and judicial rights.
China promised that it would respect Hong Kong for 50 years, but for some time now it has begun to impose its communist laws, which has caused the Hong Kong nationals to start their protests. And this is where it all begins: In China, protests are banned.
