TRANSFER OF 2,000 PRISONERS TO A NEW JAIL MADE FOR 40,000 INMATES IN EL SALVADOR

Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador, wants to end crime in his country and get all gang members off the streets. His prison measures are being controversial due to the treatment received by prisoners, where the latter enjoy 0 privileges and undergo forced labor.
According to the new government, lethal violence has been reduced by more than 60%.

There are images circulating online where we can see the transfer of 2,000 prisoners to a new prison, with a capacity for 40,000 inmates. This 57-acre center is the largest prison in the Americas and will be guarded day and night by 600 soldiers and 250 police officers.
