For decades, the socio-economic evolution in the West was continuously rising: More access to health services, more education, more resources, more money, more jobs, etc. But for some time now, it seems that this growth has become stagnant, flattened and sometimes, it even seems that it is going south without brakes and there is no one behind the wheel.

George Carlin (1937/2008) was an American comedian, actor, author, and social critic. He was known for his dark humor and his musings on politics, psychology, religion, and various taboo subjects.

EARTHQUAKE IN MYANMAR

A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025, causing severe damage in the country and also affecting neighboring Thailand.

• In Myanmar, the death toll has surpassed 1,700, with thousands injured or missing. The hardest-hit area is Mandalay, where key infrastructure has been heavily damaged.
• In Thailand, the quake caused a construction site collapse in Bangkok, leaving at least 17 dead, 33 injured, and over 80 missing.
• The international community responded quickly: the WHO sent tons of medical supplies, while countries like China, India, and the EU provided aid and rescue teams.
• Search and rescue efforts are still ongoing, but access to affected areas remains difficult.

A devastating tragedy that has triggered a major humanitarian crisis, especially in an already fragile Myanmar.

ABU DHABI POLICE ARE ALREADY LIVING IN 2050

Abu Dhabi Police just unveiled their latest patrol vehicle at Gitex Global 2024, and it looks like something straight out of the future: the Magnum MK1, an autonomous, armored, drone-equipped 4x4.

This cutting-edge vehicle is primarily electric but also has hybrid petrol support. It can reach speeds up to 150 km/h, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, and is bulletproof against ammunition up to 7.62 mm. It carries three officers and securely transports one detainee in a specially designed internal cell.

Among its most advanced features are integrated systems for audio, video, and vital-sign monitoring, autonomous off-road navigation, radio and cellular communication capabilities, surveillance drones, infrared cameras providing 360-degree vision, specialized lighting, advanced geolocation, anti-jamming protection, and even an internal workstation with a panoramic screen to manage operations directly from the vehicle.

This futuristic patrol car will be fully manufactured in Abu Dhabi and is expected to hit the roads officially by 2028—a real leap into the future for Emirati law enforcement.
