RAMS INTO COP AND GETS SHOT

What started as a routine police check in Bismarck, North Dakota, ended in tragedy. On March 7, police shot and killed 53-year-old Melanie Udell after she rammed an officer with her car. The whole thing was caught on bodycam.

Officers Matthew James and Nathan Anderson responded to a suspicious vehicle call. A witness had reported a disoriented woman inside a white Chevy, even fearing she might try to run him over. When they arrived, Officer James began calmly talking to Udell—until he caught a strong smell of weed and booze. He asked her to step out, but she refused. Instead, she started the engine and drove straight at him.
James barely dodged the car, but Udell wasn’t done. She turned the wheel, hit the gas, and slammed into him. He went flying into a fence, lost his weapon, and ended up partially trapped under the barrier—right in the car’s path.

At that point, Officer Anderson opened fire, killing Udell behind the wheel. Her car stopped in a snowbank just a few feet from the injured officer.
James was hospitalized with injuries to his head, leg, and hands. He’s been discharged but will need knee surgery and is expected to be out of service for about a year.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation ruled that Anderson’s use of force was justified. Both officers are currently on leave pending further review.

CHAIN-REACTION CRASH

On the morning of Saturday the 22nd, an incident occurred near the Montparnasse train station in Paris, leaving ten police officers slightly injured. It all started around 5:45 a.m. in the 14th arrondissement, when a driver refused to stop at a police checkpoint. Three police vehicles chased the suspect for several kilometers. Eventually, the fleeing driver lost control and crashed into a traffic light, causing the three police cars to collide with his vehicle—each one separately and at different moments.

The driver and his two passengers also sustained injuries, none life-threatening, and were arrested. Authorities suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol. And from the footage, you might wonder if the officers behind the wheel had also enjoyed a drink or two.

MID-AIR COLLISION INVOLVING THE FRENCH AEROBATIC TEAM

On March 25, two Alpha Jets from the Patrouille de France—the French Air Force’s aerobatic display team—collided mid-air during a training exercise near Air Base 113 in Saint-Dizier, eastern France. The two jets were performing maneuvers alongside four other aircraft when the incident occurred.

Both pilots and a passenger managed to eject in time and were found conscious. One of the jets crashed into a silo, causing an explosion, while the other went down in a nearby wooded and marshy area.

Authorities praised the pilots’ professionalism, claiming their actions prevented greater harm to civilians. But if you watch the footage, the story looks very different: the pilots eject instantly, bailing out as soon as the collision happens. They didn’t control anything—and realistically, it’s doubtful they even could in that situation. The fact that no one else was hurt seems more like pure luck than skilled maneuvering.
