A hostage negotiator's a law enforcement agent responsible for negotiating the release of hostages taken by someone. Psychology plays a very important role. You have to make the kidnapper trust you and make him believe everything's gonna be fine, accepting some of his demands if possible or trying to attract his attention and get him to lower his guard... and then it's the moment for the other agents to take action...
