VIOLENCE AND LOOTING NIGHT IN PHILADELPHIA

A group of about 100 young people forcefully entered several stores in the city's downtown area, such as Footlocker, Apple Store, and Lululemon, and wreaked havoc on everything in their path.

The excuse for the looting is linked to the protest that took place in the city earlier, after a judge dismissed charges against the police officer who shot and killed driver Eddie Irizarry through the car window.

Robotaxis have taken over many of the main cities in the USA. These driverless autonomous cars are being used as taxis to transport people from one side of the city to the other. As you can imagine, these robotaxis are causing traffic jams, chaotic moments, and even accidents. Just imagine the frustration of the other drivers. I'm not sure what's worse, the traffic jam itself or not having a driver to vent all your anger at.

LOSS OF AUTHORITY

Authority is the attribute that gives a person, position, or profession the right to give orders. It is also the quality that ensures that an order is followed. Therefore, having authority means both giving commands and being obeyed. This authority, within a social consensus, is based on a legitimate recognition of those who demand it; Politicians, judges, police officers, as well as bosses, teachers, and parents, among others, are figures of authority.

But authority can also be lost, either through misuse or abuse, or through a lack of legitimacy. Authority is based on values and principles accepted by the majority, and it is forced to uphold them and set an example.

When a misuse of authority is combined with the fact that this new society is raised with the idea that the world revolves around the individual, and constantly bombarded with messages of freedom and rights, it causes them to perceive authority as a figure of repression, losing respect for it.
