The topic of slip-and-fall lawsuits in the USA is a pretty viable option for all sorts of scammers or beginners in the art of fraud. The compensations can range from tens of thousands of dollars to millions.
This gentleman faked a fall in a restaurant because of some ice that he had previously thrown himself. The camera caught it all, so I don't think he got away with much, except maybe the embarrassment he must have felt when they showed him the footage.
