JAPAN AND THE TERM E-THOT

E-Thot is a term coined at the beginning of 2010 alongside the advent of social media platforms and the rise of streaming platforms. Currently, girls who broadcast or post on tiktok, Instagram or more platforms are called attention-seeking girls, whether they admit it or not, who usually dress or dance sexy (among other things) to attract followers and grow their finances and sphere of influence.
The term thot is an acronym for "That Ho Over There" (that whore over there), and is used in a pejorative sense. It is used within the incel men who claim that this type of women takes advantage of men with low self-esteem.
An “E-Thot” can be a camgirl, gamer girl, YouTuber, Instagram “model” or Twitch streamer.

In Japan, a curious situation is taking place. Some girls go out on the streets to broadcast their live shows. They do this because they play around with the location feature. Certain streaming platforms allow users to browse locally (by proximity) so the streets of wealthier neighborhoods fill up with girls because that means much higher donations due to users' purchasing power.
